Nerve Filter´s Evasion of Primacy?!

Postby Boreli » Mon Aug 24, 2009 10:04 pm

Just found on Wikipedia:

"Albums:
* Evasion of Primacy; 10 tracks (1996?; private release of less than 50)
* Linear, 23db Records (28 February 2006)
"

Tom, explain please. Is it real ou a joke?

Yeah, I did a cassette as Nerve Filter way back when, but it's pretty much nothing like what Linear sounded like. It was more dark quasi-rave with lots of samples (there was a song called 'Back and Forth' built almost entirely of manipulated Skinny Puppy samples). It hasn't aged well, so there are no plans to re-release it. Trust me, I'm doing your ears a favor. haha

I'd still be interested, no matter how 'bad' it is. I find that description of 'dark quasi-rave' fascinating. If you're not planning to release it or do anything with it, why just not upload it all as mp3s? (Trying my luck here. :lol:)

Or at the very least upload a sample song that would give us an idea what the cassette is like. 8-)

It's a quality control issue, really. I just think it sounds pretty awful and would rather not muddy the waters for people looking to check out Never Filter. However, I did upload a couple of the tracks from that cassette that had appeared on compilations to Last.FM Keep in mind that this stuff was recorded straight from the outputs of my sampler to DAT. No compression, external effects, or proper mixing was used.

If you want to track down the period between these early tracks and "Linear", look around online for these tracks:
Ritalin by Nerve Filter... This was on a comp called Dark Techno One Nine Nine
Remembrane by Scar Tissue Remixed by Nerve Filter. (Basically a Nerve Filter track. I used random samples from a DAT he sent me and built a new track out of them)
Be Broken [Unbreakable Mix] by Converter remixed by Nerve Filter
