Spammers

Yesterday, I found out that this forum is not immune from spammers. Bots, yes. Human wastes of space with nothing better to do with their time, no. I was able to ban/IP ban/delete all this persons posts (some nonsense about WoW), but I'm thinking another Moderator might be in order. Any nominations?

On that note... I have not see any spamming or anything here as of yet, or have you been that quick to deal with it?

Actually I thought I was pretty slow to catch it, since I was out most of the day Sunday, but maybe it was the right place at the right time after all. The guy posted in about 3 threads, started one of his own too, all about farming gold in World of Warcraft.

You are here a lot Raw, so you're very much in the running.

You must have gotten to it somewhat quickly. I check in all the time and never noticed them. I would have deleted the posts myself if I had. I definitely second the motion of another Mod. Raw Love seems like a good choice as far as I'm concerned.

Had another one, with the appropriate username "ass...". Taking the necessary steps to try to reduce the spam activity. Now when users sign up, they have to confirm their email address before using the site. Can't believe I didn't have that implemented before.

Still adding Raw Love as a mod just in case.
